Circuit Comes to Town

I'm a big fan of Matinee group. They organise some of the best parties in and around the city of Barcelona, and although maybe some of the best ones have been and gone, they're still a sure bet for a great time.

So, once again it's time for the biggest Gay and Lesbian Festival to hit town (and round about) - Circuit. The pre-party kicks off tonight and there are events which run right up until 14th August which is next Sunday. There are many spaces and locations used all around Barcelona and Sitges, including Razzmatazz, and beach parties at Atlantida as well as the hugely popular Illa Fantasia for the Water Park party and the beach at San Adria.

It looks like this year won't be featuring the bear party from last year and strictly the girls and the boys. The girls have chosen Atic for their main event, but will also be joining many of the joint events. The great thing about Circuit is that they also organise day events from art exhibitions, Aids awareness, cinema and fashion to raise funds for needy causes - this year it's "Protect" which helps prtect children against sexual exploitation. It's all to be applauded in my opinion and very well organised. Are you planning on attending this year? Let me know in the comments!

Barcelona Gets Back on the Circuit

The summer is hotting up, and those festivals just keep on coming. Shortly it's the turn of the biggest Gay & Lesbian festival in Europe, and where else but Barcelona?! That's right, for the third year running, those party animals at Matinee have organised the 2010 Circuit Festival - with a jam packed week of events and parties ranging from Water Park fiestas, Big name Gay down town clubs, beach parties and this year also caters for both the boys, the girls, and the bears!

The festival starts at the end of next week and goes on all through the first week of August, with some of the best spaces available to party! DBoy, Salvation, Souvenir and Martin's are the main ones you would associate with the Gay Circuit, but there's also Atlantida in nearby Sitges, and Razzmatazz and Row 14 as another "afters" venue. If last year lived up to its expectations, then this year has a tough act to follow, but don't doubt Matinee group!!

Coming to Barcelona for the festival? Let me know in the comments, and who you'll be looking forward to seeing. Barcelona Circuit Festival

This Saturday sees the first of two of the biggest festivals to hit Barcelona this summer - Barcelona Circuit Festival. This is a Gay and Lesbian Festival, which lasts a whopping 8 days and is organised by the gurus of Barcelona fiestas, Matinee group. Taking in over 9 venues across the whole week, this proves to be one huge party, in some of the city's best known haunts, such as DBoy, Souvenir, Salvation, Martin's Disco, The swimming Pools at Hospitalet, Illa Fantasia Water Park, Razzmatazz, Row 14, and the Olympic Pavilion in Badalona. And that's just the boy's events!

Organisers have rounded up some of the best DJ's from Europe and the world - ex-residents of Ibiza, London, Paris, and other top nightspots around the world for what looks to be an incredible, non-stop party. The programme starts in DBoy on Saturday night, and continues well into Sunday noon at Souvenir. Sleep needed, I'm sure, after midnight kicks off at Salvation again on Sunday evening. Various water parks are involved mid week, after the success of Matinee's Summer Festival in June.

The party of all parties culminates on the 8th August, with a real all-nighter! The Olympic Stage in Badalona - usual concert venue for the likes of Oasis and Coldplay in recent years, will see a sea of finely-toned, tanned (if a little knackered from such a hard week partying) males take over the pavilion for what looks to be THE party of the week. An envious line up, live acts and many surprises will make you want to party more till Brazilian Souvenir night, and the final "La Leche" beach party down at Atlantida. If you guys can keep up with that week, you'll surely need the rest of August off to recuperate!

Anyone going to Circuit week? Please let me know and leave comments if you're going, I'd love to hear from you.
